Chicken Share, Sweetlove Farm, 2x/month pick-up. SweetLove Farm specializes in pasture-based farming in Jefferson County, KS, since 1999. Their chickens are raised in light-weight, moveable shelters that give the birds all the things they would naturally want: shelter from the elements, constant access to fresh air and sunshine, a diet of pasture grasses, bugs, seeds and a specially blended feed ration. The shelters are moved once or twice daily depending on age so that the birds are always enjoying fresh, clean pasture.

Bread Share, 1900 Barker Bakery, weekly pick-up. The bread at 1900 Barker is made using freshly-milled grain from the best farms they can find; right now that looks like sourcing most of the flour from Central Milling, an organic grain mill in Utah. All of what they do is really simple; they use the best grain and a little salt, substantial amounts of water and naturally-occurring, wild yeasts to create all of the flavor. Because they're so particular about the process and the health of the ingredients that they use, they don't have to hide behind additives, sweeteners or oils to create the flavor and texture that they want. This naturally-leavened process also makes for healthier bread because they're using most-to-all of the whole grain and allowing the wild yeast to transform the proteins in the grain over a long period of time. This creates a bread that actually meets the requirements of our bodies and the end result is a flavor-rich, soft, moist and airy interior known as the "crumb" and an unusually-long shelf life for a bread made completely preservative-free.

Ferment Share, Wild Alive Ferments, monthly pick-up.
Wild Alive offers fermented vegetables, condiments and beverages; some that are familiar and some wildly creative, chock full of locally grown bacteria. Some popular items include kimchi, fermented hot sauce, sauerkraut and kombucha. About 95% of the ingredients for the ferments in your share are sourced directly from your Common Harvest CSA farmers!

The Pork Share, Stirring Soil Farm, monthly pick-up. Stirring Soil Farm is a biodynamic farm located in Berryton Kansas. Their Missouri Mulefoot/Largblack pigs spend their whole life on the farm. Born on our diverse pasture (seeded with forage like beets, kale, peas, buckwheat, etc.. ), they feast on good bacteria & bugs in the soils, chomping down cover crops, tilling in the remains of harvested vegetable fields, exploring the shaded tree lines seeded with brassicas & root crops, wallowing in the cool mud, or just chillin in their mobile shelters.
